The region includes the départements of Loire Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée. Lying between Aquitaine, Brittany, Normandy,the Châteaux of the Loire and the Atlantic Ocean, this French region offers its many tourists, holidays that are packed with nature and good food. In any season, take time to discover its cities of art and history such as Nantes, Angers, Guérande and Saumur; its many museums; its parks, abbeys and châteaux in the Loire Valley and its picturesque wine route. The city of Nantes is within 400 kilometres of the Le Havre ferry terminal and fewer than 300 km from that of Caen.
Further West, the 450 kilometres of its Atlantic coastline offer visitors many possibilities for walks and water sports. Relax in one of its resorts, or set off to discover the salt marshes of Guérande or the island of Noirmoutier.
